‘Inventive and imaginative, Ultra Violet lights the way to what is yet to come’
Pantone describes it as ‘a dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade, that communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.
Complex and contemplative, Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now’…
Basically, it’s just a really nice jewel shade of purple. Historically, there has also been a mystical or spiritual quality attached to Ultra Violet. The colour is often associated with mindfulness practices and meditation spaces, offering refuge from today’s over-stimulated world. Of course musical icons such as Prince, David Bowie, and Jimi Hendrix all brought shades of Ultra Violet to the forefront of pop culture as personal expressions of individuality, which means we finally have the perfect excuse to host that Purple Rain themed party this year…
The Pantone Colour Institute is a consulting service that forecasts global colour trends and advises companies on colour in brand identity and product development. Recognised around the world as a leading source of colour information through seasonal trend forecasts, custom colour development, and more, last year we saw Pantone’s chosen shade Greenery literally everywhere and there’s no doubt that this purple-powered number is set to do the same.
Here are TOAST.life's pick of the best ways to add a pop of this gorgeous, uplifting and seriously on trend colour to your next party or event, from brilliant balloons to beautifully designed teapots, stunning wine glasses to fabulous florals, it’s time to go perfectly purple.
