How To Create Your Own Magical Christmas Party

Cranberry Blue's top tips for super stylish entertaining this winter!

If you're looking to give your guests a dinner party with that WOW factor you've always been looking for this Christmas, then we have the perfect thing for you! TOAST caught up with founder of Cranberry Blue, Melanie Helen, who hares her top tips for super stylish entertaining this winter!

Bringing The Outside In

The idea of ‘bringing the outside in’ has been popular for quite a few seasons now seems set to continue. It would work really well to update this look with the use of autumnal trees in burnt orange. This design would provide a superb entrance for an event or used in and amongst the tables of a dinner, or as part of a drinks reception. In a similar vein, it would be amazing to create hanging clouds of wintery branches and leaves above the tables, or to have clusters of painted gold or copper leaves hanging from chandeliers or branches suspended in the room.

Make It Cosy

Thinking about a comfortable lounge area at your event, the change in season brings a change in mood and you can create a warm and inviting vibe through the choice of furniture at your event. Stylish pieces such as leather chesterfield sofas and burnt orange velvet armchairs work brilliantly well with copper and mirror side tables. The colours and choice of fabrications all evoke that cosy atmosphere.

Give It Stronger Colour

Colour-wise, rather than just using the more obvious orange tones that autumn conjures up, why not consider introducing stronger reds and even purples into the mix. We also love introducing a warm mustard level, which looks divine against the pinky-purples.

Be Innovative

For winter and Christmas parties, the classic winter wonderland is always popular (the challenge is how to make this seem new and exciting), but we’ve also been working on designs based around the beautiful ballet the Nutcracker as well as Hansel and Gretel.

Coordinate Drinks And Theme

Think about what reception drink you can offer your guests when they arrive. A festive inspired Champagne cocktail or a classic mulled wine with a twist always goes down well.

Make It Personal

Guests love the feel special so why not have small personalised gifts at everyone’s place during dinner?

Ask For Help

To take the stress out of the evening, it’s really worth hiring a chef or catering team to actually do the cooking, serve and manage the drinks. This will in turn give you time to mingle and actually enjoy the evening.

Get Inspired For Your Table Decor

Make time to design a striking table centre to set the scene – take inspiration on-line or from magazines and consider all aspects from your choice of linen (or keep the look modern without using linen at all), tableware and individual place settings.
