At TOAST we love to entertain so we always get excited when a fab new cookbook comes out and inspires us to plan our next dinner party menu, and this one in particular is destined to turn your next feast for friends up a notch.



Typically cookbooks focus on the main course, but not this one. Whilst writing his food blog Rocket & Squash, Ed Smith noticed that a key part of our meal was being ignored. On too many occasions, side dishes were being relegated to an over-boiled afterthought, or dismissed with a 'eat with potatoes' or 'serve with seasonal greens' throwaway line. So as you can probably guess from its title, On The Side instead celebrates the side dish.
